WELCOME TO THE TRANSPORTATION FUND FOR SCHOOLS
Through a generous gift of the Environmental Education Funders Consortium, Bay Area low-income schools have access to transportation grants through Science by Nature. Low-income schools are defined as those with free or subsidized lunches for at least 60% of students.
Teachers will need to complete an application and obtain an authorization code. To access the bus application please download the documument below. Please fax the completed application to Transportation Fund at (650) 644-0583 or email bus@sciencebynature.org. You may also mail the application to the Environmental Volunteers, Transportation Fund at 2560 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto, CA 94303.
Once an application is approved, teachers can make reservations for buses to educational sites through Michael's Transportation http://bustransportation.com/ or at (707) 643-2099.
If an alternative district bus is used, then payment should be made by the school and will be reimbursed by Science by Nature. The maximum reimbursement is $500.00 per trip.
